The F. M. Kirby Foundation is proud to celebrate more than 25 years of partnership with the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers (CNJG), a leading resource and network for New Jersey’s philanthropic community. CNJG serves over 130 grantmaking organizations — family, private, community, independent, and corporate foundations — by providing shared learning, collaborative opportunities, and leadership development. Through its programs, CNJG strengthens the capacity of funders to address the state’s most pressing challenges and to maximize their impact.

CNJG’s initiatives include the Doing Good Better partnership with the New Jersey Center for Nonprofits, which focuses on addressing power imbalances and racial inequities in philanthropy, nonprofits, and government. The Council also offers a range of programs such as funder briefings, Affinity Group meetings, and skill-building webinars, all designed to foster collaboration and enhance the effectiveness of grantmaking in New Jersey. Additionally, CNJG plays a pivotal role in advocating for policies that support and elevate the philanthropic sector.

By facilitating connections, promoting best practices, and advocating for systemic change, CNJG helps create a more vibrant and equitable philanthropic landscape in New Jersey. The F. M. Kirby Foundation is honored to support CNJG’s mission to strengthen and promote effective philanthropy throughout the state.
