The F. M. Kirby Foundation is pleased to welcome a new team member and to announce two staff promotions.
Helen Benson has joined the organization as Director of Finance, effective November 13th. Helen joins the Foundation with both small business and corporate experience and 17 years of managing financial operations, strategic planning, and analysis. After beginning her career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse, Helen worked for Showtime Networks where she ultimately become Vice President of Finance and Operations and led a team responsible for the strategic planning and analysis of cable revenue and related marketing expenses. Most recently, Helen served as the Controller/Money Manager for Liberty Paperwork Solutions, where she managed the financial operations of the business while assisting clients with their personal finances and financial goals.
“The impressive leadership and financial management skills Helen has gained in previous roles will be valuable as she begins the newest chapter of her career in philanthropy. Responsible fiscal management is essential to the success of the Foundation’s mission; Helen’s expertise will ensure that the Foundation continues its legacy of effective stewardship and compassionate grantmaking,” said Justin Kiczek, Executive Director.
Two F. M. Kirby Foundation staff members have received promotions. Liz Crowley has been promoted to the role of Program Officer and Gina Beviglia has been promoted to the role of Communications and Program Associate. Having joined the Foundation in November 2021, Liz oversees the Foundation’s Environmental and Human Services funding. Gina has been with the Foundation since September 2022, and is responsible for the Foundation’s Arts, Culture, and Humanities grantmaking along with internal and external communications.
“In their time with the Foundation, Liz and Gina have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to continued education in their respective funding areas to better serve our grantee partners. These new roles reflect their dedication to our mission as they assist in ushering the Foundation into its 92nd year of grantmaking,” said Laura Virkler, Chair of the Board.
