The F. M. Kirby Foundation is pleased to announce that two new staff members have joined the organization.

Wanda Miroslava Peguero has joined the F. M. Kirby Foundation as a Grants Administrator, effective August 7th. Wanda has extensive grants administration experience, having worked in the philanthropic sector for over 20 years. She has worked formerly for the Ms. Foundation for Women in Brooklyn, New York, where she led several major projects intended to modernize the organization’s grants processes. Additionally, Wanda has experience managing grantmaking across a variety of program areas, including arts, environment, human services, and education. At the F. M. Kirby Foundation, this experience will be invaluable as Wanda works with Foundation staff and partners to coordinate a smooth transition to online grantmaking, while ensuring data integrity and efficiency.

Kimberly Mahoney has joined the F. M. Kirby Foundation as an Executive Assistant, effective July 10th. A Morristown resident, Kim has worked in executive assistance roles for over 30 years. The efficiency and exceptional communications skills Kim has developed through her many professional experiences, such as her most recent role as the Assistant to the President at Birchwood Partners, will be valuable as she supports all facets of the Foundation’s work.

“In their brief time with us, Kim and Wanda have already positively impacted our work with their enthusiasm and expertise. Wanda’s data-oriented perspective and vast knowledge of grants management systems will be crucial as the Foundation seeks to maintain its legacy of personalized grantmaking while transitioning to more efficient, digital processes. This transition requires a great deal of support and experience to ensure our operations continue running smoothly; Kim’s background in family office support and eager nature have demonstrated she is the perfect candidate to fill this role,” said Justin Kiczek, Executive Director.

“Kim and Wanda’s varied skillsets and knowledge will prove essential to ensuring that, as we embark on our fifth generation of family philanthropy, the F. M. Kirby Foundation maintains its steadfast commitment to our grantee partners in all aspects of our grantmaking,” said Laura Virkler, Chairperson of the Board.
