The F. M. Kirby Foundation is proud to celebrate four years of continuous partnership with El Futuro, a leading mental health organization dedicated to providing bilingual and culturally responsive care to North Carolina’s Latino community. Based in Durham, the nonprofit offers comprehensive mental health services, including therapy, psychiatry, and substance use treatment, ensuring that Latino families have access to high-quality, compassionate care.
The Foundation supports El Futuro’s mission to create stronger, healthier communities by addressing the unique mental health needs of Latino individuals and families. Through its integrated approach, El Futuro combines clinical care with community outreach, professional training, and research to expand mental health access and reduce barriers to care.
In addition to direct services, El Futuro fosters a sense of belonging through initiatives like La Mesita Latinx Mental Health Professionals Network, a collaboration that provides clinical training and peer support to clinicians across the state. The network includes monthly webinars, a learning cohort, and a biennial conference. By strengthening both individuals and the broader support network, El Futuro is making a lasting impact on the well-being of North Carolina’s Latino community.
