The F. M. Kirby Foundation is proud to celebrate 63 years of continuous partnership with Market Street Mission, a cornerstone institution of the Morristown community. Founded in 1889, the Mission has been serving the homeless, hungry, and those struggling with addiction in northern New Jersey for more than 135 years, guided by the belief that every person deserves to be surrounded with love and everything they need to rebuild their life.

The Mission offers a comprehensive range of free services across its locations in Morristown, Asbury Park, Newton, and Paterson. Through its emergency services, the Mission provides daily meals, overnight shelter for men experiencing homelessness, showers, grocery boxes, clothing and furniture vouchers, and an annual coat giveaway, ensuring that no one in the community faces immediate need alone. Each year, across its locations, the Mission serves more than 153,500 meals and provides over 47,920 shelter nights of care.

At the heart of the Mission’s work is its Life Change Addiction Recovery Program, a residential program for men that is offered entirely free of charge. Rooted in Christian faith and structured around evidence-informed practices, the program features individual and group counseling, 12-step recovery, education and career training, work therapy, life skills classes, and Bible study. Graduates transition through a carefully supported final phase, with access to affordable alumni housing and ongoing accountability as they return to independent life.
