The F. M. Kirby Foundation is proud to celebrate 34 years of continuous partnership with Philanthropy Roundtable, a network of charitable donors committed to strengthening a free society, upholding donor intent, and protecting the freedom to give. Founded in 1991 and based in Washington, D.C., Philanthropy Roundtable serves a membership of more than 400 philanthropic organizations and individuals, including private foundations, family foundations, corporate giving programs, and individual donors, all who share a commitment to strategic, principled, and impactful giving.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the Roundtable pursues its mission to foster excellence in philanthropy through a rich array of programming, publications, and advisory services. It hosts an annual gathering that brings together hundreds of philanthropic decision-makers to explore pressing challenges and share proven strategies, as well as regional convenings focused on topics such as K-12 education, economic mobility, and the strengthening of civil society.
Central to the Roundtable’s work is its advocacy for philanthropic freedom — the right of donors to choose how and where their charitable resources are deployed, free from government overreach or political interference. Through its policy work, the Roundtable educates legislators on the value of private giving, champions donor privacy, and works to protect the legal and regulatory environment in which American philanthropy can thrive. Its mission reflects a deep belief in voluntary private action as a powerful engine for addressing society’s most pressing challenges.
The F. M. Kirby Foundation is honored to support the Philanthropy Roundtable’s vital work to cultivate a culture of purposeful, freedom-centered generosity that strengthens our communities and preserves the conditions for a flourishing civil society.
