The F. M. Kirby Foundation is proud to celebrate more than 20 years of partnership with Teach for America. Since its founding in 1990, TFA has worked to ensure that all children, regardless of zip code, have access to high-quality education. By recruiting, training, and supporting diverse leaders to serve as educators in underserved communities, TFA has become a powerful force for educational equity across the state.

TFA places committed teachers in classrooms across urban and rural districts, addressing the critical teacher shortages that have amplified over the last five years and providing high-quality instruction to students who need it most. Beyond the classroom, TFA alumni continue to drive change as school leaders, policy advocates, and nonprofit innovators, amplifying the organization’s long-term impact in both urban and rural environments.

The organization also partners with districts to address many of the systemic challenges public education faces today. Through professional development programs, mentorship opportunities, and community engagement initiatives, TFA fosters a culture of collaboration and leadership that extends beyond individual classrooms.

The F. M. Kirby Foundation supports Teach For America’s mission to advance educational opportunity and empower future generations. Together, we are building a brighter, more equitable future for students.
